Scenery

The three galleries accord to Parts I, II, and III of the story, and display modern views of the scenery where these are available. (Hover over image for label.)

 In 1959, at the time of Chogyam Trungpa's escape, even the main roads were little more than dirt tracks. Many of these images show modern roads, including two-track dirt ones. With the exception of the Serkyem Pass road, none of these had been built at the time.
